Privacy Notice

From The Stem is an editorial publication of Mollohan Production Inc. (doing business as MPIArtist), based in Castle Rock, Colorado. This notice explains what limited personal information we collect when you read the publication or subscribe to From The Stem Brief, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it.

1. What we collect

Email address (required) and name (optional), provided by you when you fill out a subscribe form on this site.
Consent record, a timestamp confirming you ticked the consent box when you signed up, along with the page you subscribed from.
Limited technical metadata submitted with the form, used only to prevent abuse and troubleshoot delivery.

We do not use cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage on this site for tracking, personalization, or advertising. The site is static and stateless by design.

2. How we use it

To send you From The Stem Brief, our editorial dispatch.
To manage the From The Stem mailing list and keep a record of your consent.
To answer you if you reply to a dispatch or contact us directly.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for their own marketing.

3. Where it goes

Subscriber information is stored securely and used only to operate the From The Stem mailing list, sending you the dispatch you signed up for and maintaining a record of your consent. We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to host the site and operate the mailing list on our behalf; those providers process your information solely to deliver these services and are bound by their own privacy commitments.

4. Analytics

If we run analytics on this site, we use privacy-respecting tools that do not set cross-site identifiers or place advertising cookies. If we add a different analytics provider in the future, we will update this notice and the consent text on the subscribe form.

5. Children

From The Stem is written for an adult, working-musician readership. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has subscribed, contact us through the official channel provided by MPIArtist or the From The Stem subscription workflow, and we will remove them.

6. Your rights

Unsubscribe at any time, every dispatch includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you, reach us through the official contact channel provided by MPIArtist or the From The Stem subscription workflow, and we'll respond within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days).
Opt out of any optional processing, to be clear, the only required processing is what's needed to send you the dispatch you signed up for; everything else is optional.

7. Security

Subscriber information is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with our service providers under their security controls. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps proportional to a small editorial mailing list to protect the limited information we hold.

8. Retention

We keep your subscription record for as long as you are subscribed, plus a reasonable archival window after you unsubscribe (typically up to 24 months) so we can honor your unsubscribe and resolve disputes. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

9. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice in a way that affects how we use your data, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is material, notify subscribers by email.
